4th Regional Plan Urban Design

Plan & Process co-created and organized the urban design content for the 4th Regional Plan.  In partnership with ORG Permanent Modernity, Plan & Process created a series of design studies for nine “Flagship places” in the region that collectively represent a vision for how the region would evolve under the recommendations of the 4th Plan. These aerial views are accompanied by set of ground-level views of the future.  Plan & Process also conceptualized alternative future growth scenarios for the region which were used to understand the policies and investments that will be needed as the region grows. This is summarized in a publication Charting a New Course.  In partnership with Princeton University, Plan & Process managed the 4 Corridors initiative, a cooperative design competition that conceptualized the region in terms of 4 large geographic areas.   The opening essay in the 4 Corridors Workbook provides an overview of the role of design in regional planning.
