The explosion in on-line shopping that resulted from Covid, exacerbated what was already a crisis in goods movement to and through New York City: among other impacts – congestion, pollution and pedestrian safety, and neighborhood quality of life. In response, the AIANY Freight and Logistics Working Group launched a study of how goods movement in NYC could be improved through innovative strategies related to design, policy, industry practices and community engagement.
